Migrate credit card data from prior payment processor

Vinebase uses Stripe as our payment processor. Depending on which payment processor you are moving from, you can request that payment processor securely migrate that data to Stripe.

Note: This is if you have credit card data stored in a prior system but do not have access to the card numbers themselves. This process can take 2-4 business weeks, so if you don't have many club members, we recommend doing this manually by reaching out to your club members instead.

See our Pre-shipment FAQs for steps on how to get ready for your first shipment

Step 1: Contact your prior payment processor

You will need to request to migrate directly with your previous payment processor. Wineries need to do this themselves for security reasons.

Here's an example message of what you can say:

Hi, I need to request to migrate my stored credit card data away from {prior payment processor} to Stripe. Can you please help me initiate the transfer process? Thank you.

Most payment processors have a support page, but here are some of the most common:

Contact the Authorize.net support team

The prior payment processor support team must confirm that they have completed their portion of the transfer process before you can move on to the next step.

Step 2: Contact Stripe

You will need to tell Stripe that you are migrating credit card data into your account.

If you need your Stripe account number, you can access it via your Portal > Settings > Payments > Stripe dashboard.

Here's an example message of what you can say:

Hi, I am migrating my credit card data from {prior payment processor}. Can you please help me get it connected to my Stripe account which is connected to Vinebase? Thank you.

Step 3: Contact Vinebase

After step 1 and 2 are completed, our team can help ensure your wine club members are connected properly to the credit card data stored in Stripe.
